Gerry Melia,1st july 2007, age 71 a paint sprayer from Ballyfermot Dublin ,Ireland married to Eileen for 50 years has five sons and three daughters one son in law, passed away peacefully after short illness,with great dignity. A man of many talents fair but hard at times ,a family man loved by many and missed so much ,never forgotten and always in our thoughts.

my dad was the most respected man with a large amount of friends, who done him proud at his passing, he always 'said' don't do a bad turn on anyone, if you can't do a good one,he was a funny man, the club were he used to go for a drink is empty now without his presence,three hour's before he passed away my youngest daughter (tanya) came to his bedside with her first child (carly) who was 3 day's old , he opened his eyes and smiled and said she's beautiful
tan, he spoke to us right to the very end not complaining once, he always said to me how did i get this geraldine, it broke my heart not being able to make things right for him, to feel so helpless, as he alway's made things right for us, he went so quick for a man that was never sick in his life always worked, he had just retired after working nearly 56 years,we brought him to purto rico 6 months before he died, and thats the only time i ever heard him say 'god ger i'am tired' little did i know his illines , was taking over and still he was happy making sure my mam had a good time, he went looking for a angel for me as he knew i loved them, he was so proud handing that angel to me, i treasure it forever his funeral went on for a week as all his nephews, nieces, and familys came from preston, manchester, london, and all over ireland to pay thier respect to my wonderful (DAD), he is missed so much by all of us
my mam can't even say his name without crying,
but he left us some happy memories too,
my dad a gentleman right till the end
